SPRING Opening Ceremony 2023

On October 05th and 06th, 2023 the new SPRING students from three different continents were welcomed at TU Dortmund University. Most of them arrived already earlier in Germany and could participate in the opening ceremony at Campus South in person. Others got the opportunity to attend the opening ceremony online.

On the first day the students were introduced to the TU Dortmund University, the Department of Spatial Planning and the SPRING program as well as getting to know how to deal with the University’s internal networks. For this purpose, the students were personally welcomed by:

• Prof. Dr. Tessa Flatten (Vice President International Affairs)
• Prof. Dr. Dietwald Gruehn (Dean of the Department)
• Dr. Anne Weber (SPRING coordinator)
• Dr. Raffael Beier (Interim Head of SPRING)
• and Andreas Tinschert (Student Council „Raumplanung“)

After lunch, the SPRING students met the SPRING study coordinator, Dr. Anne Weber, for SPRING program-specific issues and organizational matters.

On October 06th, the SPRING students focused on getting to know each other through poster presentations.
The SPRING team wishes the new SPRING batch and all new international students a successful start to their studies and is looking forward to an exciting and inspiring academic year together.
