Exploring the Intersections between Post-Growth Planning and Temporary Urbanism

During the late summer, students participating in the Department of European Planning Cultures Master-level seminar on Temporary Urbanism supported and engaged in the organization of an international panel discussion exploring how temporary planning initiatives and measures is or could be understood in a Post-Growth context.

PhD Researcher and Lecturer Robin Chang coordinated the event, which featured local, regional and international guests. The speakers included scholars and practitioners such as Jan Bunse from Dortmund’s Die Urbanisten e.V.; Sara Caramaschi from the Gran Sasso Science Institute in L’Aquila, Italy; Thomas Eltner of the Dortmund 2040 initiative and TU Dortmund University; and finally Oliver Hasemann and Daniel Schnier from ZZZ Bremen and the founders of AAA. Dr. Christian Lamker from the University of Groningen, but previously based at TU Dortmund University helped co-moderate the public event. Detail from the event discussions and a video-link are available in the latest post from the EPC Conversational Cuts Blog series.
